Our customer had web guides with old electronics, all outdated, and getting ready to fail. The mechanical components were in good shape. It seemed that their only solution was to buy complete web guide systems as the current web guides no longer had spares or support for the controls or sensors. Additionally, they wanted a solution that would rid them of dealing with the current sensor and controls complexity. Additionally, our customer required applications that required center guiding of different widths of webs.
Our sales representative for that region visited their facility and introduced our customer to our technology. He knew our sales rep well and had worked with him for many years in the converting industry. After some conversations with our sales representative, the customer decided to look at the web guide upgrade kit as an alternative to their problem.
We initially hit some speed bumps, but these were taken care off immediately by the technical support staff of Roll-2-Roll Technologies
Our proposed solution was the Roll-2-Roll Technologies Web Guide Upgrade Kit. This solution allows converters to use the existing web guide mechanism and replace the controller, sensor and actuator with our advanced technology. As our customer can attest, it provides a simple to operate control system that reduces downtime due to elimination of downtime for calibration of sensors. Our customer had a variety of web guides that needed upgrading, and our kit was just the answer. The kit includes the SCU5 Controller, a Sensor solution, and the actuator that is manufactured to fit into the existing space of the web.
Our customer has ordered many units and his operation runs smoother without the worry of a web guide failing in their converting lines.
